Blessings

"
Why blessings? In this page I offer words which call on my spirit . words which invite me to open to the Truth.
They are blessings for me. May they rain blessings on all who read them.
In love and peace

Just sit there right now

Just sit there right now.
Don’t do a thing. Just rest.
For your separation from God
is the hardest work in this world.
Let me bring you trays of food
and something that you like
to drink.
You can use my soft words
as a cushion
for your head.
Hafiz (circa 1320 – 1389)

God Said

God said,
I am made whole by your life.
Each soul,
each soul completes me
Hafiz (circa 1320 – 1389)Love is the Cure
Love is the cure,
for your pain will keep giving birth
to more pain,
until your eyes constantly exhale love
as effortlessly as your body
yields its scent.
Rumi (1207 – 1273)

A prayer from St Theresa of Avila (1515 – 1582)

"
Zen Proverb
Before enlightenment...
chopping wood,
carrying water.
After enlightenment...
chopping wood,
carrying water.
"
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

St Francis of Assisi (1182 – 1226)

Can true humility and compassion
exist in our words and eyes
unless we know that we too
are capable of any act?

From Psalm 46

Be still
and know
that I am God

The inexpressible mystery …

The ultimate meaning and purpose of life cannot be expressed, cannot properly be thought. It is present everywhere, in everything, yet it always escapes our grasp. It is the ground of all existence, that from which all things come, to which all things return, but which never appears. It is ‘within’ all things, ‘above’ all things, ‘beyond’ all things but it cannot be identified with anything. Without it nothing could exist, without it nothing can be known. It is ‘unseen but seeing, unheard but hearing, unperceived but perceiving, unknown but knowing’ … We speak of ‘God’ but this also is only a name for this inexpressible mystery.

Celtic blessing

"
Sikh Blessing
May the long time sun
shine upon you
all love surround you
and the pure light
within you
guide your way home.
"
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall soft upon your field.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
